RESOLUTION APPROVING AMES HISTORICAL SOCIETY
FUNDING AGREEMENT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, during approval of the 2005/06 budget, the City Council approved a request
from the Ames Historical Society for operational support of the museum maintained by the Society;
and,
WHEREAS,based upon that budget request,a funding agreement with the Ames Historical
Society has been prepared; and,
WHEREAS, the agreement confirms payment of$7,500 from the Local Option Sales Tax
Fund,with the money to be used by the Society to pay for rent,utilities,and phone service expenses
pertaining to housing historical material, archives, and artifacts; and,
WHEREAS,this payment is contingent upon the Society raising matching funds in an equal
or greater amount from its annual membership dues.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the 2005/06 funding agreement with the Ames Historical Society is hereby approved.
