HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Disposal of 1979 fire truck RESOLUTION NO. 05-290 RESOLUTION WAIVING CITY PURCHASING POLICY REGARDING DISPOSAL OF SURPLUS EQUIPMENT AND ACCEPTING OFFER FROM FIRE SERVICE TRAINING BUREAU TO PURCHASE 1979 FIRE TRUCK FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, the City owns a 1979 General fire truck(Fleet ID #810), which has been the Department's reserve engine; WHEREAS, due to the arrival of new Engine 1,this reserve engine is no longer needed by the City; and, WHEREAS,the Fire Service Training Bureau has offered to purchase the reserve engine for $8,000,which has been determined by the Fleet Services Director to be a fair and reasonable offer; and, WHEREAS,the City's Purchasing Policy states that equipment no longer required or having no practical use to the City may be disposed of by acceptance of a single unsolicited offer with City Council approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Purchasing Policy is hereby waived and the offer to purchase a 1979 General fire truck,Fleet ID #810, in the amount of$8,000 by the Fire Service Training Bureau is hereby accepted.
