RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF
WESSEX SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the
Wessex Sanitary Sewer Extension Project; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on
the 4t'day of May,2005,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public
Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 12t'day of April, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Halbrook Excavating of
Ankeny, Iowa, in the amount of$86,488.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction
of said project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Halbrook Excavating of Ankeny,
Iowa,in the amount of$86,488.00 dated the 24t'day of May, 2005, for the construction of the
Wessex Sanitary Sewer Extension Project as provided for in the detailed plans and
specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said
contractor with Employers Mutual Casualty Company of Ankeny, Iowa, as surety thereon, in
the amount of$86,488.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extend of such conflict.
