RESOLUTION APPROVING TRAFFIC SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
(TSIP) GRANT AGREEMENT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNALS
AT DUFF AVENUE AND MAIN STREET
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, the location for the 2005/06 Annual Traffic Signal Program is a project to
replace the traffic signal at the Duff Avenue/Main Street intersection; and,
WHEREAS,to cover some of the costs of this$150,000 project,the City submitted a Traffic
Safety Improvement Program Grant application for$65,000; and,
WHEREAS,after reviewing this grant submittal,Iowa Department of Transportation(IDOT)
officials have approved the request and submitted the agreement; and,
WHEREAS,the City's portion of the project is anticipated to be $85,000 and is budgeted in
the Road Use Tax Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the Traffic Safety Improvement Program (TSIP) agreement with the Iowa Department of
Transportation for traffic signals at Duff Avenue and Main Street are hereby approved.
