HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Facilities Agreement with MEC for interconnection at Ankeny Substation RESOLUTION NO. 05-180 RESOLUTION APPROVING FACILITIES AGREEMENT WITH MID-AMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY FOR INTERCONNECTION AT THE NORTHEAST ANKENY SUBSTATION PERTAINING TO THE 161-kV TIE LIE PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, this year's budget includes a CIP project to install a 161-kV interconnection with Mid-American Energy Company and to upgrade the current interconnection with Alliant Utilities; and, WHEREAS, the budgeted cost of the project is $18,667,000; and, WHEREAS,a significant portion ofthis project involves interconnecting into Mid-American Energy Company's Northeast Ankeny substation; and, WHEREAS, a Facilities Agreement with Mid-American Energy is required; and, WHEREAS, the Facilities Agreement details what is expected of each party, including the costs for the interconnection; and, WHEREAS, if the total obligations of Electric Services under this contract are determined by Mid-American to exceed$1,500,000,then Electric Services shall be required to approve further work in writing. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Facilities Agreement with Mid-American Energy Company for interconnection into the Northeast Ankeny Substation is hereby approved.
