HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Agreement for U.S. 69 Intersection Improvement RESOLUTION NO. 05-141 RESOLUTION APPROVING IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (IDOT) AGREEMENT FOR JOINT PARTICIPATION IN U. S. 69 INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS (1901h STREET TO DAWES DRIVE) FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, the 2005/06 U. S. 69 Intersection Improvements project, located on the north end of the community,has resulted from the development of Ada Hayden Heritage Park and also an existing accident problem caused by turning movements at Riverside Drive and at 190th Street (Moose Road); and, WHEREAS,the project involves widening the existing 24-foot pavement along the east side to provide for a continuous left-turn lane; and, WHEREAS, right-turn lanes will be constructed at Riverside Drive, Arrasmith Trail, 190th Street, Ada Hayden Park, and Dawes Drive; and, WHEREAS, the Riverside Drive horizontal alignment will be modified to bring the intersection perpendicular to U. S.69,and a three-lane section will be built on Riverside Drive;and, WHEREAS, the IDOT will perform project design, contract letting, and construction administration; and, WHEREAS, funds are planned in the amount of$200,000 from General Obligation Bonds for the City of Ames' local match. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the IDOT Agreement for Joint Participation in U. S.69 Intersection Improvements(190th Street to Dawes Drive) is hereby approved. ADOPTED THIS 12th day of April, 2005. lid& Diane R.
