HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - 2005/06 updated Annual PHA Agency Plan RESOLUTION NO. 05-119 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2005/10 FIVE-YEAR PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY PLAN AND THE 2005/06 ANNUAL PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY AGENCY PLAN FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act (QHWRA) of 1998 enacted by Congress mandates that Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) submit to the Department of Housing and Urban Development(HUD)yearly updates to the PHA's Annual and Five-Year Plans; and, WHEREAS,these plans will continue to advise HUD,the City's participants, and members of the public of the City's mission for serving the needs of low-and very low-income families and the strategy for addressing those needs; and, WHEREAS, these Plans are required in addition to the City's Administrative Plan; and, WHEREAS,regulations allow PHAs that only administer tenant-based assistance and that do not own or operate public housing units to submit a stream-lined Annual Plan; and, WHEREAS, few changes were made to the Five-Year and Annual PHA Plans; and, WHEREAS, the staff and Resident Advisory Board believes that the mission and goals included in the 2000/05 Plan should roll-over into the 2005/10 Plan,which will allow more time to achieve more of the goals outlined; and, WHEREAS,the staff,along with input from the Resident Advisory Board,has addressed the goals and objectives outlined in the PHA Plan template and prepared the Plan for public review and comment for submittal to HUD. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Ames Housing Governing Board of the City of Ames, Iowa, that submittal of the 2005/10 Five-Year Public Housing Authority Plan and the 2005/06 Annual Public Housing Authority Agency Plan and required attachments to HUD in connection with the City's Section 8 Rental Subsidy Housing Programs is hereby approved and,the plans are to be submitted to HUD on or before May 17, 2005.
