RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
161-kV CIRCUIT BREAKERS FOR
ELECTRIC TIE LINE PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such proj ect having been designated as the 161-kV
Circuit Breakers for the Electric Tie Line Project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received
on the 91h day of February,2005,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by DeWild
Grant Reckert&Associates Company and filed with the City Clerk on the 11 th day of January, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Mitsubishi Electric Power
Products, Inc., of Warrendale, Pennsylvania, in the amount of $423,814.16 is the lowest and best bid
submitted for the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said
contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Mitsubishi Electric Power Products,
Inc., of Warrendale, Pennsylvania, in the amount of$423,814.16 dated the 22"d day of February,
2005,for the 161-kV Circuit Breakers for the Electric Tie Line Proj ect as provided for in the detailed
plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said
contractor with Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland of Glendale, California, as surety
thereon, in the amount of$423,814.16 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby
approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 8th day of March, 2005.
