RESOLUTION WAIVING FEES FOR USE OF ELECTRICITY
DURING THE CAMPUSTOWN RAIL JAM
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, staff met with a representative of the Iowa State University Ski and Snowboard
Club regarding the possibility of holding a First Annual Campustown Rail Jam on Welch Avenue;and,
WHEREAS, organizers request the closure of Welch Avenue north of Fire Station No. 2 and
south of Lincoln Way; and,
WHEREAS,the street and adjacent parking spaces would be closed to facilitate the hauling in
and/or making of snow on Welch Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, there will be a band or other music provided for the event, and a noise permit
has been obtained from the Police Department; and,
WHEREAS,there may be a need for electricity from the pedestals located in that portion of
Welch Avenue for lighting and a P.A. system; and,
WHEREAS, the group is requesting that the City Council waive the cost of the electricity
required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the waiver of fees for use of electricity during the First Annual Campustown Rail Jam on
February 12, 2005, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 8t'day of February, 2005.
