RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX
EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES
WITHIN URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS
WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS,Y2,L.C.,has submitted an application dated January 24,2005,to the City Council
of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to property located at 220 Main Street; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within the 220 Main Street Downtown Urban
Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the
Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well
as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS,Malone&Company,Inc.,has submitted an application dated February 1,2005,
to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on
the actual value added by improvements to property located at 229 Main; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within the 229 Main Street Downtown Urban
Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the
Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well
as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.
WHEREAS,Jensen Development Corporation has submitted an application dated January 21,
2005,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation
on the actual value added by improvements to properties located at 1305 and 1307 Coconino Road;

and,
WHEREAS, said properties are located within the 1305/1307 Coconino Road Urban
Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement projects respecting said properties are in conformance with the
Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well
as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvements on said properties were made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS, The Rose of Ames,L.P.,has submitted an application dated January 9, 2005,to
the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the
actual value added by improvements to property located at 1315 Coconino Road; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within the 1315 Coconino Road Urban Revitalization
Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the
Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well
as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: IOYears.
WHEREAS,Alexander,L.C.,has submitted an application dated January 21,2005,to the City
Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual
value added by improvements to property located at 2610 Northridge Parkway; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within the 2610 Northridge Parkway Somerset Urban
Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the
Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well
as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such

improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.
WHEREAS, 121 Beach,LLC,has submitted an application dated January 27,2005,to the City
Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual
value added by improvements to property located at 121 Beach; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within 121 Beach Avenue Campustown Urban
Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the
Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well
as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS,Chamberlain,LLC,has submitted an application dated May 25,2004,to the City
Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual
value added by improvements to property located at 2519 Chamberlain Street; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within 2519 Chamberlain Street Urban Revitalization
Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the
Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well
as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS, 117 Stanton,LLC,has submitted an application dated May 24,2004,to the City
Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual
value added by improvements to property located at 119 Stanton Avenue; and,

WHEREAS, said property is located within 119 Stanton Avenue Campustown Urban
Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the
Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well
as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10Years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that said applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
forward said applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement
complying with the provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
