HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - 2005/06 Annual Action Plan Project for CDBG Program RESOLUTION NO. 05-036 RESOLUTION GRANTING AUTHORIZATION TO PURSUE 2005/06 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN PROJECTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE CITY'S CDBG PROGRAM AGREEMENT FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,in order to receive Community Development Block Grant(CDBG)funds,the City must submit a Consolidated Plan to the Department of Housing and Urban Development(HUD); and, WHEREAS,the Consolidated Plan requires detailed background information on the community derived from census data and other comprehensive studies performed by the community; and, WHEREAS,the City's Consolidated Plan was submitted and approved by HUD in August 2004; and, WHEREAS, the Consolidated Plan requires that the City must develop an Annual Action Plan that outlines the program activities that will be undertaken to address or meet those goals and priorities; and, WHEREAS,during the City Council's Goal-Setting Session,it was agreed that,as a first priority, that CDBG funds will be utilized to develop a new owner-occupied single-family detached housing subdivision by subsidizing infrastructure cost for a developer; and, WHEREAS, in order to meet the required time frame, it is time to begin the process for determining the 2005/06 Annual Action Plan Project(s) for the CDBG Program; and, WHEREAS,notification has been received from HUD that for FY 2005/06,the City will receive $562,732 in CDBG funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the continuation of the 2004/05 project activities for the 2005/06 Action Plan Project activities is hereby approved with priority being given to develop a new owner-occupied single-family detached housing subdivision.
