HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract/bond for Contract No. 13-Exhaust System RESOLUTION NO. 04-521 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF COMBUSTION TURBINE GENERATOR,CONTRACT NO. 13 - EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Combustion Turbine Generator,Contract No. 13-Exhaust System;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 10'day of November,2004, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 22"d day of October,2004; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Braden Manufacturing,LLC,of Tulsa,Oklahoma,in the amount of$586,250.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City ofAmes,Iowa,as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Braden Manufacturing,LLC,of Tulsa, Oklahoma,in the amount of$586,250.00 dated the 23'day ofNovember,2004,for the construction of the Combustion Turbine Generator, Contract No. 13 - Exhaust System as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with Westchester Fire Insurance Company of the State of New York as surety thereon, in the amount of$586,250.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 14th day of December,2004. Diane R.
