HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - HVAC System Replacement for Fire Station No. 2 RESOLUTION NO. 04-508 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MOVE OF FIRE STATION NO. 2 HEATING,AIR-CONDITIONING,AND VENTILATION SYSTEM PROJECT FORWARD TO FY 2005/06 FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,during the current fiscal year,the Fire Department has two Capital Improvement Plan(CIP)projects,and recently obtained bids have provided an opportunity to combine the current year CIP budgets for Fire Station No. 1 floor coverings and Fire Station No. 2 day room remodel with next year's CIP project for a new heating,ventilation, and air conditioning(HVAC) system to reduce overall costs; and, WHEREAS, Fire Station No. 2 was built in 1966 and is in need of renovation; and, WHEREAS, recent bids have been received and recommendations from the successful bidders included installing the HVAC system prior to the day room remodel being completed; and, WHEREAS, this will result in approximately $2,000 to $4,000 in savings, and the time required for Fire Station No. 2 to be closed for construction will be reduced. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the completion of the day room remodel and HVAC replacement at Fire Station No. 2 as part of the FY 2005/06 budget is hereby approved.
