RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISIONS
TO PAY PLAN
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, the Pay Plan acknowledged that the market warranted higher pay ranges for
certain positions in the Electric Services Department(Grades 90-93)than for pay ranges assigned
to non-Electric Departments positions in our merit pay plan (Grades 60 - 65) with the same point
ratings; and,
WHEREAS, however, this differential did not extend to the Director position; and,
WHEREAS, the pay ranges for the 91, 92, 93, and 94 grades need to be revised and grades
95 and 96 need to be created; and,
WHEREAS,the Parks and Recreation Department recently completed a nine-month Project
Team effort, and the Team recommended that the vacant Recreation Superintendent Aquatics
Supervisor, and Secretary II positions be eliminated and new positions of Recreation Coordinator
— Sports, Recreation Coordinator—Aquatics and Activities, and Project Administrator be created.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the City's Pay Plan be revised to reflect these changes.
ADOPTED THIS 9th day of November, 2004.
