HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract/bond for perimeter fencing at Water Plant RESOLUTION NO. 04-484 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR INSTALLATION OF PERIMETER FENCING FOR WATER TREATMENT PLANT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Installation of Perimeter Fencing for the Water and Pollution Control Department;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 14'day of October,2004, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the City of Ames Water and Pollution Control Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 24t'day of September,2004; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Midwest Fence and Gate Company of Fort Dodge,Iowa,in the amount of$113,345.75 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Midwest Fence and Gate Company of Fort Dodge, Iowa, in the amount of$113,345.75 dated the 26`h day of October, 2004, for the Installation of Perimeter Fencing for the Water and Pollution Control Department as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company(Mutual)of Des Moines,Iowa,as surety thereon, in the amount of$113,345.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 26`h day of October, 2004. Diane R.
