HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Funding for Community Needs Assessment RESOLUTION NO. 04-467 RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST FOR FUNDING FOR COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, on August 20, 2004, the mayor received a letter from the Story County Community Coalition requesting the City's involvement in a community"Health and Quality of Life Assessment", and the request was referred to staff; and, WHEREAS, a number of City departments were invited to review the survey questions proposed at that time, and a number of suggestions were forwarded to the consultant for inclusion in the survey; and, WHEREAS, since the City already distributes a Citizen Satisfaction survey, it is unclear whether this new instrument will provide any additional information of value to the City organization; and, WHEREAS,however,in an effort to make this survey more relevant to the City,a few of the proposed questions were revised so as to yield some additional information for the Police Department; and, WHEREAS,City staff recommends an allocation of$3,000 for the"Community Health and Quality of Life Survey" which could come from unallocated 2004/05 ASSET local option tax dollars. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that participation in the "2004 Community Health and Quality of Life Assessment" contributing $3,000 of unallocated ASSET Local Option Tax dollars is hereby approved.
