RESOLUTION APPROVING LEASE AGREEMENT
FOR MAINTAINING PARKING METERS
ADJACENT TO 303 WELCH AVENUE
ALONG HUNT STREET
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, the parking situation on the south side of Hunt Street is unique because the
parked vehicles are partially on private property and partially on public property; and,
WHEREAS,the City of Ames is required to have a lease agreement with the property owners
in order to install and maintain parking meters for these spaces, which primarily serve the
commercial entities that are located just west of Welch Avenue on Hunt Street; and,
WHEREAS,authorization for these existing meters expired as the result of a sunset clause,
however, the owner agreed to keep the meters in this area and has signed a lease agreement; and,
WHEREAS, this 25-year lease provides turnover for the business owners at 303 Welch
Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the lease agreement for maintaining parking meters adjacent to 303 Welch Avenue along Hunt
Street is hereby approved.
