RESOLUTION GRANTING THE MAYOR BLANKET AUTHORITY TO SIGN
ALL PROGRAM DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE
ADMINISTRATION OF THE CDBG PROGRAM
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, on August 18, 2004, the City received notification from the Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD)that the City's Consolidated Plan and the 2004/05 Annual
Action Plan has been approved and incorporated into the Grant Agreement between the City of Ames
and HUD; and,
WHEREAS,the Grant Agreement outlines that the City of Ames will receive$589,000 for the
FY July 1, 2004, through June 30, 2005, to implement the following approved Action Plan Projects:
1)Deposit Assistance Program;2)Minor Repair Assistance Program for Non-Profits;3)Minor Repair
Assistance Program for Single Family Units;4)Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance Program;
5)Acquisition/Reuse Program; and, 6) Curb Accessibility Program; and,
WHEREAS, as each of the above programs are implemented, certain documents(e.g., loan
agreements, subordinate mortgages, promissory notes, statements of understanding, etc.)between
such participants as home buyers,homeowners,non-profit organizations, and/or renters, etc.,need
to be completed in order to properly administer the funds in accordance with HUD and the City's
program guidelines; and,
WHEREAS,staff is requesting that the City Council give the Mayor blanket authority to sign
all necessary program documents and correspondence, as needed, to efficiently and effectively
administer this program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the request to grant the Mayor blanket authority to sign all program documents in connection
with the administration of the Community Development Block Grant Program is hereby approved.
