HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Agreement for East Lincoln Way Pedestrian Bridge RESOLUTION NO. 04-355 RESOLUTION APPROVING A TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (IDOT) FOR THE EAST LINCOLN WAY PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,included in the 2003/04 Capital Improvement Plan is a project to construct the East Lincoln Way/Skunk River Bicycle Crossing; and, WHEREAS,this project includes construction of a pedestrian bridge over the South Skunk River along East Lincoln Way; and, WHEREAS, the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO)was asked to approve the use of$75,000 ofFTE funds for this project,and the Iowa Department of Transportation has approved the request and submitted the funding agreement to the City of Ames for approval;and, WHEREAS, the total cost of this project is anticipated to be $311,100; and, WHEREAS,the Transportation Enhancement funds will cover$75,000 of the cost,$75,000 will be covered from Local Option Sales Tax funds, and the remaining funds are included in the General Obligation Bond financing for the East Lincoln Way Reconstruction Project; and, WHEREAS, the Bridge will be constructed at the same time as the East Lincoln Way Widening Project, which runs from the South Skunk River to the east city limits. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Transportation Enhancement Agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation for the East Lincoln Way Pedestrian Bridge is hereby approved.
