HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Disposal of two old transit buses RESOLUTION NO. 04-319 RESOLUTION WAIVING FORMAL BIDDING PROCEDURES FOR DISPOSAL OF TWO OLD TRANSIT BUSES FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, CyRide operates some of the oldest transit buses in the United States; and, WHEREAS,two of the General Motors buses built in 1964 and 1968 will not be repaired as the buses are not suitable for daily operation; and, WHEREAS,the Chicagoland Bus Museum has requested that the buses be made available for preservation at its facility, and it has further requested that they be sold to them for a negotiated price; and, WHEREAS, a similar General Motors bus was recently sold for $207 by normal bidding process, and the average price for the last five buses was $450. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the sale of bus nos. 922 and 884 for $450 each to the Chicagoland Bus Museum is hereby approved.
