HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Budget addition for 2002/03 Traffic Signal Replacement Program RESOLUTION NO. 04-285 RESOLUTION APPROVING BUDGET ADDITION FROM ROAD USE TAX FUNDS FOR THE 2002/03 TRAFFIC SIGNAL REPLACEMENT PROGRAM (KELLOGG AVENUE AND LINCOLN WAY) FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,included in the 2002/03 Capital Improvement Plan was a project to replace the Kellogg Avenue and Lincoln Way traffic signal; and, WHEREAS,to cover some of the costs of this $145,000 project,the City received a Traffic Safety Improvement Program(TSIP)grant from the Iowa Department of Transportation(IDOT)in the amount of$66,905; and, WHEREAS,an Urban State Traffic Engineering Program(USTEP)grant agreement already approved by the City Council will cover$42,952 of the estimated cost for the new traffic signal;and, WHEREAS,the City's portion of the project was anticipated to be $35,143 and is budgeted from the Road Use Tax Fund; and, WHEREAS, the low bid for this project will require a slight amount of additional funding as the total project costs of$145,515 would be $515 over the total project budget; and, WHEREAS, staff is requesting that the Council approve an increase in funding from the Road Use Tax Fund from $35,143 to $35,658. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the budget addition of $515 from the Road Use Tax Fund for the 2002/03 Traffic Signal Replacement Program(Kellogg Avenue and Lincoln Way) is hereby approved.
