HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Street and parking lot closures for Midnight Madness RESOLUTION NO. 04-261 RESOLUTION APPROVING CLOSURE OF CERTAIN STREETS AND PARKING LOTS AND CHANGES IN PARKING REGULATIONS FOR MIDNIGHT MADNESS ACTIVITIES FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, the Midnight Madness organization is requesting the following street and parking lot closures on Saturday, July 10, 2004; and, WHEREAS, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for the Midnight Madness races: Fifth Street from Pearle Avenue to Douglas Avenue; Douglas Avenue from Fifth Street to Sixth Street; Sixth Street from Douglas Avenue to Clark Avenue;Clark Avenue from Sixth Street to Main Street;Main Street from Clark Avenue to Northwestern Avenue;Northwestern Avenue from Main Street to Sixth Street; Sixth Street from Northwestern Avenue to Elwood Drive; Elwood Drive from Sixth Street to Pammel Drive;and,Pammel Drive from Elwood Drive to a point 100 feet east of the intersection of Pammel Drive and Haber Road; and, WHEREAS,from 5:00 p.m.on July 10 to 1:00 a.m.on July 11 for post race activities: Clark Avenue from Sixth Street to Fifth Street; and the East City Hall parking lot; and, WHEREAS,parking spaces on Fifth Street from Pearle Avenue to Kellogg Avenue will be closed as well as parking spaces on Douglas Avenue between Fifth Street and Sixth Street; and, WHEREAS, parking spaces on Clark Avenue and Pearle Avenue would also be closed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the above-mentioned street closures and East City Hall parking lot closure for the Midnight Madness activities to be held on July 10, 2004, is hereby approved.
