HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract/bond for Ball Plastics Ductline Project RESOLUTION NO. 04-196 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BALL PLASTICS DUCTLINE PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Ball Plastics Ductline Project; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 14'day of April, 2004, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 23`d day of March, 2004; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Mastec, Inc., of Hugo, Minnesota, in the amount of$113,693.68 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Mastec, Inc., of Hugo, Minnesota,in the amount of$113,693.68 dated the 27'day of April,2004,for the construction of the Ball Plastics Ductline Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Arch Insurance Company of Kansas City,Missouri,as surety thereon,in the amount of$113,693.68 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 11 th day of May, 2004. L,Ga`J Diane R.
