HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Street closures for Hope Run/Walk RESOLUTION NO. 04-169 RESOLUTION APPROVING TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS FOR HOPE RUN/WALK FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,Mary Greeley Medical Center(MGMC)is sponsoring the Fourth Annual Hope Run/Walk on Saturday, May 15, 2004,beginning at 9:00 a.m.; and, WHEREAS,the event has been moved from the fall to the spring to team up with its Day for All Ages event to be held in Inis Grove Park, and in order to facilitate the movement of the participants in the Run/Walk,temporary street and parking lot closures will be needed from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.as follows:Close East 24'Street,Broadmoor Avenue,the east lane of Duff Avenue from Broadmoor Avenue to East 20`f' Street, the north lane of East 20t' Street from Duff Avenue to Meadowlane Avenue,Meadowlane Avenue from East 20th Street to East 13th Street, the south half of the parking lot at Inis Grove Park, and the parking lot at North River Valley Park; and, WHEREAS, temporary parking restrictions also need to be approved so that no parking is allowed from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.on both sides of East 24t'Street,Broadmoor Avenue,Duff Avenue from Broadmoor Avenue to East 20t' Street, East 20th Street from Duff Avenue to Meadowlane Avenue, and on the east side of Meadowlane Avenue. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the request to close the above-mentioned streets on May 15,2004, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and to place no-parking restrictions on the streets as described above from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. for the Hope Run/Walk is hereby approved.
