A RESOLUTION ADOPTING NEW AND REVISED FEES
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa, that the following fees shall
be adopted or adjusted to recover the approximate actual costs of city services from those who use
and benefit from these services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that
fees shall be adopted as follows:
SECTION ONE. The following Municipal Cemetery Fees are hereby adopted or adjusted effective
July 1, 2004:
Lot Charges
Adult $540.00
Infant 163.62
Interment (Does not include lot)
Regular- Adult $600.00
Regular- Infant 200.00
Saturday- Adult 700.00
Saturday- Infant 250.00
Sunday- Adult 900.00
Sunday- Infant 300.00

For interments that require grave thawing, add: 100.00

*City of Ames holidays are: New Year's Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day,
Independence Day, Labor Day, two (2) days at Thanksgiving, and two (2) days at
Christmas.
SECTION TWO. The following License and Permit Fees are hereby adopted or adjusted effective
July 1, 2004:

Master: $20.00/year
Journeyman: $15.00/year
Administrative Fee charged for all new licenses $25.00

Contractor: $20.00/year
Journeyman: $15.00/year

SECTION FOUR. The following Public Works Fees are hereby adopted or adjusted effective July
1, 2004:
Per Capita Charge $10.50
Delivery charges at the Arnold O. Chantland Recovery Center shall be:
a. Vehicles through the meter gate:
Passenger cars,each 8.00
Pickup,vans or vehicles towing trailers,each 22.00
b. Commercial charge customers through the scales:
All vehicles, including those of licensed refuse
haulers,per ton(Minimum charge one ton) 52.75
c. Non Per Capita Rate,per ton 58.00
d. Out of County rate,per ton 116.00
e. Tires*:
16"or smaller 2.25
16.5" -24"truck tires 4.25

A proportional share by weight on the system cost

g. All white goods, including but not limited to refrigerator,
freezers, washing machines,dryers,air conditioner and
microwave ovens,each 20.00
h. Waste Oil: First five gallons no charge,then per gallon .25
Plan deposit fees shall be the actual cost of printing plus a$15.00 administrative fee.
SECTION FIVE. The following Planning and Housing Fees are hereby adopted or adjusted
effective July 1, 2004:
