HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract/bond for 2004/05 Water System Improvements Program RESOLUTION NO. 04-134 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2004/05 WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM- WATER SERVICE TRANSFER-CONTRACT NO. 1 FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the 2004/05 Water System Improvements Program-Water Service Transfer-Contract No. 1;and,pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 10' day of March, 2004, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 10tn day of February,2004; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Rognes Corporation of Ames, Iowa,in the amount of$40,658.60 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City ofAmes,Iowa,as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Rognes Corporation of Ames,Iowa, in the amount of$40,658.60 dated the 23rd day of March,2004,for the construction of the 2004/05 Water System Improvements Program-Water Service Transfer-Contract No. 1 as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with United Fire & Casualty Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$40,658.60 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 13t''day of April,2004. CA&�?. U's-d& Diane R.
