Home My WebLink About~Master - Closure of streets for VEISHEA 2004 RESOLUTION NO.04-101 RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST TO CLOSE CERTAIN STREETS,CITY PARKING LOTS,AND METERED PARKING SPACES FOR THE VEISHEA CELEBRATION AND DIRECTING THE PLACEMENT OF APPROPRIATE SIGNS AND DEVICES FOR TRAFFIC AND PARKING CONTROL WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa: Section 1. The following streets and portions of streets shall be temporarily closed for the dates and times stated: a. Welch Avenue from Lincoln Way to Chamberlain Street: Closed at 3:00 a.m. on Friday,April 16,2004,until 12:00 p.m.on Sunday,April 18,2004. b. Welch Avenue from Chamberlain Street to Hunt Street:Closed at 10:00 a.m.on Friday,April 16,2004,until 12:00 p.m.on Sunday,April 18,2004. c. Chamberlain Street from Stanton Avenue to Welch Avenue:Closed from 10:00 a.m.on April 16,2004,until 12:00 p.m.on April 18,2004;limited delivery and business traffic will be allowed until noon on April 16 and 17,2004. d. Chamberlain Street from Welch Avenue to Hayward Avenue: Closed from 10:00 a.m. on April 16,2004,until 12:00 p.m.on April 18,2004;limited delivery and business traffic will be allowed until noon on April 16 and 17, 2004. Section 2. City Parking Lot T(between McDonald's and Pizza Pit):Closed from 12:00 p.m.on April 16,2004, until 12:00 p.m. on April 18,2004;reserved spaces will not be closed. Section 3. City Parking Lot Y(beside T-Galaxy,just south of Chamberlain):Closed from 10:00 a.m.on April 16, 2004, to 12:00 p.m.on April 18,2004. Section 4. City parking spaces on Welch Avenue from Lincoln Way to Hunt Street: Closed from 3:00 a.m. on April 16,2004,until 12:00 p.m.on April 18,2004. Section 5. City parking spaces on Chamberlain Street from Stanton Avenue to Hayward Avenue: Closed from 3:00 a.m. on April 16,2004,until 12:00 p.m. on April 18,2004. Section 6. The City Manager shall cause appropriate"no-parking"signs,barricades,traffic control signs,or other regulatory devices to be employed and enforced for the implementation of this resolution.
