HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - HAP renewal contract - Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program RESOLUTION NO. 04-082 RESOLUTION APPROVING HOUSING ASSISTANCE PAYMENT (HAP) RENEWAL CONTRACT WITH THE PROJECT OWNER FOR THE CITY'S SECTION 8 MODERATE REHABILITATION PROGRAM LOCATED IN THE SHELDON-MUNN APARTMENTS WHEREAS, the City was notified by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)that upon request of the owner of a multi-family housing project(four or more units)that is covered by an expiring contract,the Secretary of HUD shall renew the expiring contracts as project- based assistance for a period of not more than one year; and, WHEREAS, as required, staff notified the owner that the HAP contract for the Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program would be expiring June 30, 2004, and that the owner must make written response of his intention to renew or not renew the HAP contract no less than 180 days prior to the contract expiration date; and, WHEREAS,Mark A.Clark,owner of the 31 one-bedroom Moderate Rehabilitation units at the Sheldon Munn Apartments,has requested to renew the HAP contract for one year beginning July 1, 2004. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ames Housing Governing Board of the City of Ames,Iowa,that the Housing Assistance Payment Renewal Contract in connection with the City's Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program for the 31 units located in the Sheldon Munn Apartments is hereby approved from July 1, 2004, through June 30, 2005.
