RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
FURNISHING OF 69-kV CIRCUIT BREAKERS
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the
Furnishing of 69-kV Circuit Breakers; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the
30' day of December, 2003, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the
City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 5t' day of December,
2003; and,
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of WESCO Distribution of Des
Moines,Iowa,in the amount of$161,358.09 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction
of said project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and WESCO Distribution of
Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$161,358.09 dated the 13t'day of January, 2004, for the
Furnishing of 69-kV Circuit Breakers as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications
referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with The
Continental Insurance Company of Chicago, Illinois, as surety thereon, in the amount of
$161,358.09 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extend of such conflict.
