RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX
EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES WITHIN
URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS
WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, 117 Stanton,L.L.C.,has submitted an application dated December 31,2003, to the City
Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to property located at 119 Stanton Avenue; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within the Campustown Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,
as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10Years.
WHEREAS,Cyclone Plaza 2,L.L.C.,has submitted an application dated December 31,2003,to the City
Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to property located at 215 Stanton Avenue; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within the Campustown Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,
as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years.
WHEREAS, Stanton I, L.L.C., has submitted an application dated December 31, 2003, to the City
Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to properties located at 218 and 300 Stanton Avenue; and,
WHEREAS,said properties are located within the 218 and 300 Stanton Avenue Revitalization Area in
Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement projects respecting said properties are in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,

WHEREAS, the improvements on said properties were made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the
City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the
Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years.
WHEREAS, 121 Beach, L.L.C., has submitted an application dated January 15, 2004, to the City
Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to property located at 121 Beach; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within the 121 Beach Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa,
as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS,2616 Northridge Parkway,P.C.,has submitted an application dated January 19,2004,to
the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value
added by improvements to property located at 2616 Northridge Parkway; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within the Urban Revitalization Area#7 as previously established
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years.
WHEREAS,Elizabeth Ann Foreman has submitted an application dated November 25,2003,to the City
Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to property located at 2623 Somerset Drive; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously
established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use

Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS,David and Melissa Stenberg have submitted an application dated October 1,2003,to the
City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value
added by improvements to property located at 2707 Somerset Drive; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously
established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS,Joanna and Brian Anderson have submitted an application dated October 29,2003,to the
City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value
added by improvements to property located at 2723 Somerset Drive; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously
established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS,Robert C.And Svetlana A.Mortensen have submitted an application dated August 8,2003,
to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual
value added by improvements to property located at 2739 Somerset Drive; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously
established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,

WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS,Timothy A.and Laura B.Brown have submitted an application dated October 1,2003,to
the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value
added by improvements to property located at 2823 Somerset Drive; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously
established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS,Winston J.Chappell and Elizabeth Soash have submitted an application dated October 21,
2003,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the
actual value added by improvements to property located at 2302 Camden Drive; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously
established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS, Sterling and Jana Moreland as submitted an application dated November 19,2003,to the
City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value
added by improvements to property located at 2305 Camden Drive; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously

established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS, William W. Woodward and Stacy W. Woodward have submitted an application dated
January 30, 2004, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from
taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2311 Camden Drive; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously
established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS, Thomas J. and Lucy A. Carey have submitted an application dated November 29, 2003,
to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual
value added by improvements to property located at 2634 Camden Drive; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously
established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS,Janet A.and Corydon A.Croyle have submitted an application dated September 22,2003,
to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual
value added by improvements to property located at 2515 Kent Avenue; and,

WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously
established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
WHEREAS, Friedrich Construction has submitted an application dated January 30, 2004,to the City
Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to property to be constructed by December 31,2004, at 2527 Kent Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously
established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that said
applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward said
applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying with the
provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
