HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - City representatives to CIRTPA RESOLUTION NO. 03-457 RESOLUTION APPROVING DESIGNATION OF CITY REPRESENTATIVES TO CIRTPA FOR 2004 FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, prior to the initiation of the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO),the City was a member of the Central Iowa Regional Transportation Planning Alliance (CIRTPA); and, WHEREAS, as the City prepared to leave CIRTPA, it was suggested that the City of Ames continue as a non-voting member of that organization; and, WHEREAS, even though Ames now receives federal transportation funding through AAMPO, continued association with CIRTPA could have advantages; and, WHEREAS, assuming the City Council sees an advantage to participating in CIRTPA on a non-voting basis, it is appropriate to designate representatives and alternate representatives to the Transportation Policy Committee(TPC)and the Transportation Technical Committee(TTC); and, WHEREAS, over the past several years,the City's designated representatives have been as follows: TPC representative - Bob Kindred, Assistant City Manager TPC alternate representative - Paul Wiegand, Public Works Director TTC representative - Paul Wiegand, Public Works Director TTC alternate representative - Kevin Woodard, Traffic Engineer NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the appointment of the above-named individuals to their respective roles representing the City on CIRTPA's two committees is hereby approved.
