RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION OF COPPER AND FIBER CABLES
AND RELATED MATERIALS FOR
INFORMATION SERVICES DIVISION
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be furnished and installed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated
as Copper and Fiber Cables and Related Materials;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received
on the 16t1 day of October, 2003, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the
City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 23'day of September,2003;
and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Baker Electric, Inc., of Des
Moines,Iowa,in the amount of$29,036.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said
project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by
said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Baker Electric,Inc.,of Des Moines,
Iowa, in the amount of$29,036.00 dated the 28' day of October, 2003, for the furnishing and
installation of Copper and Fiber Cables and Related Materials as provided for in the detailed plans
and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said
contractor with Federal Insurance Company of Warren, New Jersey, as surety thereon, in the
amount of$29,036.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 18`h day of November, 2003.
