RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF COSTS FOR
ELECTRICITY ASSOCIATED WITH THE FACES CELEBRATION
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, on October 11, 2003, Families of Ames Celebrate EthnicitieS (FACES) is
sponsoring a fall cultural diversity celebration; and,
WHEREAS, this event is an outgrowth of the City's Human Relations Commission
DIALOGUES on race, ethnicity, and community relations; and,
WHEREAS, the celebration will be from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS, the organizers of the event are requesting that electric fees, including meter
connection costs,be waived; and,
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that electricity will be needed for planned events in City Hall,
the City Hall's east parking lot, and on Fifth Street and Burnett Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that a waiver of electric fees, including meter connection costs, is hereby approved for the FACES
Celebration on Saturday, October 11, 2003.
ADOPTED THIS 23rd day of September, 2003.
