HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Parade route for Ames High School Homecoming RESOLUTION NO. 03-357 RESOLUTION APPROVING PARADE ROUTE FOR AMES HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING PARADE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, Ames High School has requested to hold a homecoming parade on September 15, 2003 with a rain date of September 17; and, WHEREAS,the parade will begin at Bandshell Park,proceed west on Fifth Street, South on Burnett Avenue, and then east on Main Street, concluding at the Bandshell Park; and, WHEREAS,the parade will begin at 6:30 p.m.,and barricades will be placed on streets along this route for traffic control purposes and will be staffed by High School officials and adult volunteers; and, WHEREAS,police assistance will be needed at the two Duff Avenue intersections at Fifth Street and Main Street to direct traffic; and, WHEREAS,the Ames Main Street District has been informed of the parade and supports the activity; and, WHEREAS,the metered parking spaces on Main Street will not be closed prior to the event. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the route for the Ames High School Homecoming Parade as described above on September 15, 2003, is hereby approved.
