RESOLUTION WAIVING FORMAL BIDDING REQUIREMENTS
AND AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE FROM HTE
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS,2003/04 budget includes$65,739 for existing HTE software maintenance;and,
WHEREAS, HTE is the City's only software vendor for the integrated financial, utility
billing, building permits, and citation management applications; and,
WHEREAS,the City of Ames contracts with the vendor on an annual basis for maintenance
services; and,
WHEREAS,this yearly maintenance allows the City to participate in software enhancements
requested by all HTE users, both cities and counties, throughout the United States.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the waiver of formal bidding requirements is hereby approved which will authorize 2003/04
contracts with HTE for software maintenance at an estimated cost of$65,739.
ADOPTED THIS 8t' day of July, 2003.
