HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Administrative Services Agreement with AAMPO RESOLUTION NO. 03-265 RESOLUTION APPROVING ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE AMES AREA METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,in order to undertake the work activities required of the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), it is necessary to provide staff time; and, WHEREAS,this time can be allocated to staff directly employed by the MPO or it can be outsourced; and, WHEREAS,it is estimated by the Iowa DOT that the time required to accomplish MPO activities will total 1.5 to 2.5 full-time equivalent staff people; and, WHEREAS,because of the different disciplines of clerical,planning, engineering, and administration that make up this time commitment,it is not realistic for the MPO to directly hire the staff,but better to outsource this work; and, WHEREAS,under the Administrative Services Agreement,City staff will be responsible for completing the work activities involved with the Transportation Planning Work Program,the Transportation Improvement Program, and the Public Participation Plan for the MPO; and, WHEREAS,the City may also contract out for professional services to assist in meeting the regulated work requirement; and, WHEREAS,the City will bill the MPO for the costs; and, WHEREAS,funds to pay for the work will come from the federal planning grants,totaling approximately $67,000, administered by the DOT; and, WHEREAS, the City will be responsible for the salaries of the staff involved, which will provide for matching funds(amounting to 20%of the grant funds). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Administrative Services Agreement with the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization,as attached hereto, is hereby approved.
