Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract/bond for 2002/03 Concrete Pavement Reconstruction Program RESOLUTION NO.03-145 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2002/03 CONCRETE PAVEMENT RECONSTRUCTION PROGRAM - CONTRACT 2 (GREENSBORO DRIVE, TORREY PINES ROAD,AND TORREY PINES CIRCLE) FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the 2002/03 Concrete Pavement Reconstruction Program-Contract 2(Greensboro Drive,Torrey Pines Road,and Torrey Pines Circle); and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 19t1i day of March, 2003, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 11'h day of February,2003; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid ofManatt's,Inc.,ofBrooklyn,Iowa, in the amount of$218,189.84 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City ofAmes,Iowa,as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Manatt's,Inc.,of Brooklyn,Iowa,in the amount of$218,189.84 dated the 251h day of March, 2003, for the construction of the 2002/03 Concrete Pavement Reconstruction Program- Contract 2 (Greensboro Drive, Torrey Pines Road, and Torrey Pines Circle) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond ofthe said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual)of Des Moines,Iowa,as surety thereon,in the amount of$218,189.84 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 22nd day of April,2003. Diane R.
