HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Annexation of land adjacent to SE 16th Street RESOLUTION NO. 03-127 RESOLUTION APPROVING ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,pursuant to Section 368.7,Code of Iowa,that the annexation of land along Southeast 16'Street to the City of Ames described as follows and shown on the attached map is hereby approved. The annexation includes territory comprising not more than twenty percent of the land area without the consent of the owner to avoid creating an island. Tract 1 —0.45-acres - Owner: Story County, Iowa, described as follows: Parcel A in the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 12, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Story County, Iowa. Tract 2 — 153.34-acres (40-acres, 40-acres, 40-acres, 33.34-acres) - Owner: Hickory Park Inc., described as follows: The Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter, the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter,the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter,and Lot 2 of Wheelock Subdivision in the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, all in Section 12, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Story County, Iowa. Tract 3 —40-acres—Owner: Bradshaw Farms LP-CTR, Francis Bradshaw, described as follows: The Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 12, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Story County, Iowa. Tract 4—36.56-acres—Owner: Fred E. Lange and Mildred M. Tract 5 —3.44-acres—Owner: City of Ames, Water and Pollution Control, described as follows: The West 375 Feet and the North 400 Feet of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 12, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Story County, Iowa. Tract 6—20.65-acres—Owner: Hickory Park Inc., described as follows: Parcel D in the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 13, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 51h P.M., Story County, Iowa. Tract 7—7.16-acres—Owner: Pyle Land, LLC, described as follows: Parcel H in the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 13, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 51h P.M., Story County, Iowa. Tract 8 — 3.57-acres — Owner: State of Iowa, Iowa Department of Transportation, described as follows: All of that part of the North Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 13,Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5t1i P.M., Story County,Iowa lying east of Parcel D,West of Parcel H, north of U.S. Highway#30, and south of the south right of way line of S.E. 161h Street. Tract 9—Right-of-Way- 1.36-acres more or less-Owner: Story County,Iowa,described as follows: All of that part of the north 40 feet of the North Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 13, Township 83 North,Range 24 West of the 5t1i P.M., Story County, Iowa lying east of Parcel D. US Highway 30 and South Dayton Avenue Right-of-Way—39.03-acres more or less—Owners: State of Iowa, Iowa Department of Transportation, Story County, Iowa, described as follows: Starting at the point where the south and easternmost boundary of the City of Ames Corporate Limits intersects with the north and south Centerline of South Dayton Avenue, thence west and north and west again along City of Ames Corporate Limits to the point where City of Ames Corporate Limits intersects the northern right-of-way line of US Highway 30, thence west along US Highway 30 right-of-way line to the point where said right-of-way line intersects the west line of Tract 6, thence south along City of Ames Corporate Limits to the point where City of Ames Corporate Limits intersects the southern right-of-way line of US Highway 30,thence east along the southern right-of-way line of US Highway 30 to the point where said right-of-way line intersects South Dayton Avenue right-of-way line,thence south and east along South Dayton Avenue right-of-way line to the north and south Centerline of South Dayton Avenue, thence north to the point of beginning, as shown on Exhibit A: "Annexation Map." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall file a copy of this resolution,map, and legal description with the Community Development Board. ADOPTED THIS 8t1i day of April, 2003. Diane R.
