HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Waiver of subdivision regulations for property along Skunk River Greenbelt RESOLUTION NO. 03-067 RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS FOR PROPERTY ALONG THE SKUNK RIVER GREENBELT WITHIN THE CITY'S TWO-MILE JURISDICTION FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,on January 27,2003,the Council referred to staff a request by the Story County Conservation Board to waive the City's authority for approval of subdivision plats to create eight parcels of land located along the Skunk River greenbelt and defer to the review and approval process of Story County for the subdivision and platting of this tract of land; and, WHEREAS,the sites are located outside the City's corporate limits,but within the two-mile jurisdiction area; and, WHEREAS, the Story County Conservation Board is purchasing the parcels and are being created for the purpose of adding land to the greenbelt for management by the Conservation Board; and, WHEREAS, Story County does not plan to develop any parcels of land being purchased for the greenbelt; and, WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City waive its right to review this subdivision of subject property into parcels of land. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the waiver of subdivision regulations for parcels of land located along the Skunk River greenbelt within the City's two-mile jurisdiction is hereby approved.
