HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Urban Revitalization tax exemption requests for 2003 RESOLUTION NO. 03-048 RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES WITHIN URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,E.Kent and Joan E. Cooper have submitted an application dated October 1,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 511 S. Fourth Street; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within the 511 S.Fourth Street Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10Years. WHEREAS,Cyclone Plaza,L.L.C.,has submitted an application dated December 23,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 200 Stanton Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within the Campustown Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. WHEREAS,Cyclone Plaza 2,L.L.C.,has submitted an application dated December 24,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to properties located at 215 Stanton Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said properties are located within Campustown Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement projects respecting said properties are in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvements on said properties were made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the 1 City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. WHEREAS,2616 Northridge Parkway,L.C.,has submitted an application dated January 27,2003,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2616 Northridge Parkway; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the Area#7 Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. WHEREAS,Chris and Hong Willer have submitted an application dated October 3,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2722 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. WHEREAS,Philip and Tammy Stegman have submitted an application dated May 30,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2817 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State 2 of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,William J. Stein has submitted an application dated August 16,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2425 Camden Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Joseph M.And Vicki L.Watters have submitted an application dated December 19,2002, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2830 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Patrick and Janet Heiderscheit have submitted an application dated July 30,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2536 Somerset; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, 3 WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Gary and Joan Liming have submitted an application dated December 27,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2806 Somerset; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Jacob Hanson has submitted an application dated August 27,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2805 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Thomas Chopskie has submitted an application dated August 12,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2418 Camden Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, 4 WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS, Robert K. and Betty K. Friedrich have submitted an application dated May 14, 2002, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2517 Sherwood Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,JeffNelson and Amie Rockow-Nelson have submitted an application dated September 13, 2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2754 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Brad W. Stehr has submitted an application dated October 22,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2651 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. 5 WHEREAS,Aileen and Joel Sullivan have submitted an application dated October 10,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2609 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS, Hanson Homes, Inc., has submitted an application dated January 6, 2003, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2811 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Kevin and Shelley Stow have submitted an application dated January 9,2003,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2637 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. 6 WHEREAS, Furman Corporation has submitted an application dated January 7, 2003, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2650 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Denise Perkins Rupp and Craig E.Rupp have submitted an application dated January 31, 2003, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2706 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that said applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward said applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying with the provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
