HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Modifications to Administrative Plan for Section 8 Rental Assistance Program RESOLUTION NO. 03-028 RESOLUTION APPROVING BLANKET AUTHORIZATION FOR THE HOUSING COORDINATOR TO MAKE MODIFICATIONS TO THE SECTION 8 RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM ADMINISTRATIVE PLAN,AS NEEDED,IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT'S REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,as part of the administration of the Section 8 Rental Housing Subsidy Programs,all Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) are required from time to time to revise and/or amend their discretionary policies and procedures in their Administrative Plans to conform with HUD's regulations of the Section 8 Rental Housing Subsidy Programs; and, WHEREAS, the City continuously needs to review their policies and procedures to be in compliance with HUD regulations, as well as revise and/or clarify their discretionary policies for better program efficiency and effectiveness; and, WHEREAS,the PHA's Board must adopt Administrative Plans and any revisions and forward a copy to HUD; and, WHEREAS, staff is requesting that the Ames Housing Governing Board authorize the Housing Coordinator, after consultation when required with the Resident Advisory Board, to make changes, clarifications,and/or additions to the City's Section 8 Rental Housing Subsidy Program Administrative Plan, as needed; and, WHEREAS, staff will notify the Board when major changes are made that will have an impact on the Program. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa, that the Housing Coordinator is hereby granted blanket authorization to make modifications to the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program Administrative Plan, as needed, in accordance with the Department of Housing and Urban Development's regulations.
