HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amendments to 2002/03 Human Services Contracts RESOLUTION NO. 02-599 RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO 2002/03 HUMAN SERVICES CONTRACTS FOR AMES COMMUNITY PRESCHOOL CENTER AND CHILD SERVE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, during the summer months after the closing of Children's Services of Central Iowa (CSCI), ASSET worked with a number of other local, non-profit childcare providers to find slots for the children who had been at CSCI's centers; and, WHEREAS, City ASSET funds which had been withheld from CSCI ($52,600) were available to help defray additional costs assumed by other providers for taking these children; and, WHEREAS, ASSET focused on other licensed, non-profit childcare providers for these available funds and not other types of programs; and, WHEREAS, in October, the ASSET volunteers made recommendations for additional childcare funds to Ames Community Preschool Center(ACPC)and Child Serve across all funders; and, WHEREAS, it is recommended that the City's portion to ACPC total$10,031 and to Child Service amount to $18,594. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that ASSET's recommendation of additional 2002/03 City funds of$10,031 to provide child care through Ames Community Preschool Center and $18,594 to Child Serve out of the $52,600 originally reserved for Children's Services of Central Iowa is hereby approved.
