HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Plans/specs for South Duff Area Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project RESOLUTION NO.02-576 RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR SOUTH DUFF AREA STORM SEWER RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT (PHASE II-FROM SOUTH 3RD STREET AND HIGH AVENUE TO WEST OF SOUTH DUFF AVENUE ON SOUTH 2ND STREET) FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA,AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF HEARING AND THE TAKING OF BIDS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary to construct the South Duff Area Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project(Phase II-from South 3`d Street and High Avenue to west of South Duff Avenue on South 2nd Street)for the City of Ames;and, WHEREAS,the City Council deems it necessary and proper to adopt proposed plans,specifications,and form of contract as filed with the City Clerk on the 12"'day of November,2002;and, WHEREAS,it is necessary to fix a time and place of hearing on said proposed plans,specifications and form of contract and to provide for the taking of bids in connection therewith and to give notice thereof. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as follows: Section 1. The proposed plans, specifications and form of contract for South Duff Area Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project(Phase II-from South 3`d Street and High Avenue to west of South Duff Avenue on South 2nd Street)within the City of Ames,Iowa,are hereby approved,and the 10t'day of December,2002,at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers,City Hall,Ames,Iowa,hereby fixed as the time and place of hearing on said proposed plans, specifications, and form of contract, and also the time and place of considering bids in connection therewith. Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m.on the 4t'day of December,2002,in the office of the City Clerk,Ames,Iowa,at which time they shall be opened and announced. Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of said hearing on said proposed plans, specifications,and form of contract,and of the taking of bids,by publication of such notice,once,not less than four nor more than twenty days before the time of said hearing, unless otherwise provided by State law, and having a general circulation in the City of Ames,Iowa. Said notice shall be in substantially the following form: (See attached legal notice) Section 3. All provisions set out in said form of contract and notice are hereby recognized and prescribed by this Council,and all resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
