HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Deed for a portion of South 16th Street r-o-w RESOLUTION NO. 02-575 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (IDOT) FOR A PORTION OF S. 16TH STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, in 1992, the IDOT constructed a grade-separated interchange for the U. S. Highway 30 and Dayton Avenue intersection; and, WHEREAS, since Dayton Avenue needed to be relocated westerly from its original intersection with U. S. 30,it was necessary to pave Southeast 16t''Street between the new relocated Dayton Avenue and the existing Dayton Avenue; and, WHEREAS,the IDOT paid for this paving on SE 16th Street with the condition that the City of Ames accept the responsibility to maintain SE 16t' Street as a City street; and, WHEREAS, the agreement also stipulated that the IDOT would acquire the right-of-way needed for SE 16'Street and transfer the right-of-way to the City when the project was completed; and, WHEREAS, the project was completed, and the IDOT transferred the right-of-way to the City; however, a portion of the right-of-way acquired for SE 16t''Street was omitted from the legal description of land being transferred to the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Quit Claim Deed for SE 16t'' Street right-of-way is hereby accepted. ADOPTED THIS 12t''day of November, 2002.
