HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Design concept plan and revised budget for Ada Hayden Heritage Park RESOLUTION NO. 02-568 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONCEPT PLAN AND REVISED BUDGET FOR ADA HAYDEN HERITAGE PARK PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, on September 24, 2002,the City Council approved an agreement with Snyder &Associates to develop the design concept,create the construction documents,assist in the bidding process, and provide construction supervision for the Ada Hayden Heritage Park project; and, WHEREAS, the proposed design concept incorporates all the elements reflected in the original Master Plan; and, WHEREAS,based on resident feedback received following the approval of the Master Plan and the anticipated need, an area to the south along Harrison ($29,150) was identified as a future parking area; and, WHEREAS, in addition to site development, landscape restoration, and off-site improvements indicated in the Master Plan, staff is recommending that the concept include a water well and a concrete-encased wastewater-holding facility to service the restroom/shelter. WHEREAS, in order to finance this option, an additional $82,500 from the Water Fund should be appropriated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the concept plan for the Ada Hayden Heritage Park,which incorporates all the elements reflected in the original Master Plan; a water well and a concrete-encased wastewater-holding facility to service the restroom/shelter, financed by an $82,500 appropriation from the Water Fund; and the inclusion in the construction documents, as a bid alternate, a 20-stall parking lot on Harrison Road is hereby approved.
