RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF
2002/03 SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION PROGRAM-
WORLE CREEK SANITARY SEWER&MANHOLE REHABILITATION PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the 2002/03
Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Program-Worle Creek Sanitary Sewer and Manhole Rehabilitation Project;
and,pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 17th day of July, 2002, as called for in the
detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with
the City Clerk on the 25th day of June, 2002; and,
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Insituform Technologies USA,
Inc., of Chesterfield, Missouri, in the amount of$133,559.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the
construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said
contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa, and Insituform Technologies USA,Inc.,
of Chesterfield, Missouri, in the amount of$133,559.00 dated the 23rd day of July, 2002, for the
construction of the 2002/03 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Program-Worle Creek Sanitary Sewer
and Manhole Rehabilitation Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred
to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with Travelers Casualty
and Surety of America of St.Louis County,Missouri,(50%)and St.Paul Fire and Marine Insurance
Company of St.Louis County,Missouri,(50%)as surety thereon,in the amount of$133,559.00 filed
in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 13th day of August, 2002.
