HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Change order for Flood Plain Management Study RESOLUTION NO. 02-423 RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER FOR THE FLOOD PLAIN MANAGEMENT STUDY FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, in 1998,the City Council entered into the Phase IV contract with Snyder and Associates for completion of the Flood Plain Management Study; and, WHEREAS,the study was initiated after the floods of 1993,an the earlier phases dealt with the hydrology and hydraulics of the flood history along the South Skunk River and Squaw Creek; and, WHEREAS, Phase IV of the study is the culmination of the earlier work and involves updating the flood maps to represent the flood levels based on recent flooding events; and, WHEREAS,once the study is completed,new flood way and flood plain maps will delineate the areas that can be developed within the flood plain area; and, WHEREAS,the contract has previously-been authorized for$69,400,and the total estimated cost for the remaining work is $4,600; and, WHEREAS, this increase in cost is not an increase in the scope of the study, rather it is caused by the amount of work and time that has been done by the consultant to coordinate with the regulatory agencies; and, WHEREAS, the funding source for the change order is Council Contingency. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the change order in the amount of$4,600 for the Flood Plain Management Study, Phase IV, with funding from the City Council 2002/03 Contingency Fund is hereby approved.
