RESOLUTION APPROVING CARRYOVER OF
FLEET REPLACEMENT UNITS
FROM FY 2001/02 TO FY 2002/03
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, each fiscal year certain fleet vehicles and equipment are programmed and
approved for replacement because they have met their established life cycle criteria; and,
WHEREAS,multiple factors affect the ability to acquire and receive the new units on time
and especially within the fiscal year for which they were approved; and,
WHEREAS, staff requests authorization to replace the following units be carried over from
FY 2001/02 to FY 2002/03:
Undelivered units on order:
Pickup to replace#160 $ 25,000.00
Pickup to replace#165 22,000.00
Pickup to replace#14 25,000.00
Street Sweeper Body to replace#400 48,000.00
Street Sweeper Chassis to replace#400 55,000.00
Van to replace#228 20,000.00
Units partially delivered that need completion:
Aerial truck#77-chassis delivered, needs body and
aerial platform: 47,000.00
Dump truck#30 1 0-chassis delivered, needs body and
accessories: 27,000.00
Truck body-hydraulics, crane, etc., to finish#442 26,000.00
Units delayed due to OEM or department changes or
undecided as to needs:
Minivan#111: 13,000.00
Greensmower#56: 15,000.00
Sandspreaders #78, #79: 12,000.00/each
Sandspreader#3075: 13,000.00
Dump truck#3039: 35,000.00
Leaf sweeper#3100: 15,000.00
Brush chipper#300: 38,000.00
Leaf blower#750: 3,200.00
Tractor#121: 14,000.00
Tractor#321: 13,700.00
Total Unordered Vehicles and Equipment $478,900.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that carryover of the above-listed items from FY 2001/02 to FY 2002/03 is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 13th day of August, 2002.
