RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF
2002/03 STORM SEWER INTAKE REHABILITATION PROGRAM
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the
2002/03 Storm Sewer Intake Rehabilitation Program; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were
received on the 22'day of May, 2002, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared
by the City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 23' day of April,
2002; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Ames Trenching and
Excavating,Inc., of Ames,Iowa,in the amount of$103,015.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for
the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by
said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Ames Trenching and Excavating,
Inc., of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$103,015.00 dated the 281}i day of May, 2002, for the
construction of the 2002/03 Storm Sewer Intake Rehabilitation Program as provided for in the
detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond
of the said contractor with United Fire & Casualty Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as surety
thereon,in the amount of$103,015.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby
approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
