HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Agreement with UP Railroad for relocation of water main RESOLUTION NO. 02-324 RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT WITH UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD FOR RELOCATION OF WATER MAIN CROSSING OF RAIL FOR THE DAYTON AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,during the past couple of years,City staff and the consulting firm of Snyder and Associates have been working with area businesses on a plan to reconstruct Dayton Avenue and build a viaduct over the Union Pacific (UP) railroad crossing; and, WHEREAS,the viaduct construction requires relocation of the existing 14-inch water main crossing the UP railroad from the east side of Dayton Avenue to the west side; and, WHEREAS,negotiations with the UP Railroad have been completed,and it has prepared an agreement for the City to execute; and, WHEREAS, this agreement allows the City to relocate the water main as necessary for the construction of the Dayton Avenue viaduct over the railroad; and, WHEREAS, the UP Railroad has waived all fees associated with this work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the agreement with the Union Pacific Railroad for the relocation of the 14"water main crossing of the railroad for the Dayton Avenue viaduct is hereby approved.
